Ofcom have published their Communications Market Report 2019 looking at how communications services are used by consumers.

Some of the relevant key findings from the report:
Fibre-to-the-cabinet broadband connections overtook copper broadband connections for the first time.
There was a 17% increase in consumers upgrading from standard broadband to superfast broadband.
Data use continues to grow, with a monthly average of 240GB per fixed connection and 2.9GB for every mobile data connection, an increase of approximately a quarter on 2018. These increases are mainly due to a rise in consumers viewing online video.
