The next Tommy Flowers Institute Conference on “The Future of TV” is running 6th and 7th March 2018, at Adastral Park.

We are keen that Post Graduate Researchers can gain as much from industrial engagement, expand their knowledge and build network of contacts. We would be delighted if you could join us at our upcoming Spring conference.

Our focus for the Spring 2018 conference is the Future of TV

Kevin Blyth, BT’s Head of Future Consumer Applications & Services Research and his team of researchers will be running the event and more speakers will be confirmed over the next two months. We will issue a detailed agenda with timings as we approach the event, or visit http://tommyflowersinstitute.org/p/events.html for updates.

The two-day conference will be opened by Lisa Perkins, the Research and Innovation Director for Adastral Park. The event will be structured to reflect advances in TV story-telling, in TV delivery, in TV production and in TV consumption.

Confirmed key-note speakers already include

· Jamie Hindhaugh – Chief Operating Officer, BT Sport and BT TV

· Simon Gauntlett – Director Imaging Standards & Technology, Dolby

· Simon Parnall – Principal Advisor Broadcast Technology, Ofcom

· John Wyver – Co-founder of the production company Illuminations ·

Matt Stagg – Head of Media & Entertainment Technology at EE

· Steve Sharman – Founder of Hackthorn Innovation, previously Chief Architect, Media and Entertainment at IBM

· Ed Haslam – Chief Marketing Officer at Conviva

Meet and mingle with attendees from ITV, Nevion; Pitney-Bowes (EngageOne Video) and Cisco during the breakout sessions and enjoy informal chats at the conference dinner in the evening of the 6th March.
